Great Northern Corporation

GNC is a community based nonprofit that is dedicated to supporting, strengthening, and empowering families and communities at a local level to improve the quality of life in Siskiyou County. GNC provides programs that support equal access across society in all streams – to healthy homes free of environmental hazards, personal and family health care services, access to business capital, community development of infrastructure for safe water, sewer, and high speed communications delivery, and the research and resources to support such projects.

Karuk Tribe Housing Authority

The Karuk Tribe Housing Authority (KTHA) strives to alleviate the acute shortage of decent, safe, and sanitary dwellings for Native American persons of low and moderate income. KTHA promotes and sustains the culture, education, language, health, welfare, self-sufficiency, and economic independence of its residents. Affordable housing services include rental, home ownership and model programs.

Economic Development

The Siskiyou County Economic Development Council, Inc.

 The SCEDC is a non-profit 501(c)4 corporation designed to promote the overall economic development of Siskiyou County. The SCEDC functions as a clearinghouse of sorts for countywide efforts aimed at improving the local economic base and generating increased permanent employment opportunities. The SCEDC develops strategies that will result in the constructive, balanced economic growth of our region. The SCEDC prides itself on providing full-service hands-on expertise as well as valuable resources for growth and development to your business. The SCEDC manages information on everything from available real estate to tax incentives and from countywide economic trends to workforce data.

Jefferson Economic Development Institute

 JEDI is a non-profit organization that provides resources for people, businesses and communities to create self-determined livelihood, healthy organizations and thriving economies. JEDI supports individuals to become self-employed and create economic stability, and a sense of financial well-being. JEDI raises awareness to the effectiveness of microenterprise in Siskiyou County.
