Countywide Test of Emergency Alert Notification System, ReadySiskiyou-Alerts, on April 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.

SISKIYOU COUNTY, CA - As part of Siskiyou County's ongoing commitment to community safety, a test of the ReadySiskiyou-Alerts Emergency Alert System is scheduled for April 11, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. On April 11, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. you will receive a text, email, landline call, cell phone call, and/or TTY alert according to the settings you choose upon signing up, from ReadySiskiyou-Alerts.

If you or someone you know does not receive the test alert by the end of the day on April 11, 2024, please visit ReadySiskiyou-Alerts to confirm your information is in the system or create a new account.

 ReadySiskiyou-Alerts is the upgraded opt-in notification system the County of Siskiyou and its partners will use going forward to notify residents in an emergency. Residents can receive text, email, landline, cell phone, and TTY alerts according to the settings you choose upon signing up. ReadySiskiyou-Alerts is replacing CodeRED, which will no longer be used.

Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services (OES) urges residents to sign up for emergency alerts prior to the April 11th test.

“Emergencies hit Siskiyou County in all types of ways, whether its wildfire, winter storms, or earthquakes. It’s crucial that our communities receive timely and accurate emergency communications,” said OES Director Bryan Schenone. “The upgraded system of ReadySiskiyou-Alerts allows us to share potentially lifesaving information as quickly as possible. Signing up for alerts is not only easy but also perilous to your safety.”

Siskiyou County Residents should be aware of all the tools OES uses to inform them of an emergency in addition to ReadySiskiyou-Alerts including Genasys Protect (ZoneHaven), OES Facebook, OES on X (formerly Twitter), and local news outlets.
