Concealed Carry Weapon Permits (CCW)

New Applicants / Initial

Please note that CCW fingerprinting must be done at the Sheriff's Office and cannot be conducted by outside entities.

Before calling to make a fingerprint appointment, please have the following completed:

Initial CCW packet
3 letters of recommendation from friends you have known for 5 years or more.
You must take the CCW initial 16-hour course and have your certificate and qualification form completed. List of approved instructors are in attachments below.

Fingerprint appointments for new applicants are by appointment only. The Sheriff's Office offers appointments on Tuesdays; please call 530-842-8315 to check availability.

Renewals

Before scheduling a renewal appointment, please complete the following steps:

Fill out the initial / renewal packet.
Complete the CCW 8-hour renewal course and obtain your certificate and qualification form. List of approved instructors are in attachments below
Please submit the packet to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office at 305 Butte Street, Yreka, CA 96097. Allow at least 10 business days for processing.

The CCW clerk will contact you once your application is approved to schedule an appointment. For any questions regarding the CCW process, please call 530-842-8319.
