Explorer Post 2-911
The Siskiyou County Law Enforcement Explorer Program is sanctioned through the Boy Scouts of America, “Learning for Life” program. The program is a work site based career education program open to young men and women, 14-20 years old who desire to learn about a career in law enforcement. The program is developed and supervised by local law enforcement and individuals providing an opportunity for young adults to experience the skills required for a career in law enforcement. Exploring is based on five areas of emphasis:
- Career Opportunities: Learning job related skills that may broaden employment opportunities
- Life Skills: Experience positive social interaction and develop mental and physical fitness
- Citizenship: Participate in Community Service Projects
- Personal Character: Learn to make ethical and socially responsible choices
- Leadership Experience: Acquire leadership skills and traits as assigned POST officers
