The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) implements homeless services at the local level through Continuums of Care (CoC). A CoC is a consortium of individuals and organizations with the common purpose of planning a housing and services system for people who are experiencing homelessness.
HHSA operates a small staff unit focused on housing services. The purpose of the housing unit is to foster housing stability for individuals and families experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness through a variety of housing programs.
Programs may offer outreach, case management, housing navigation, shelter, and/or permanent housing support for eligible program participants. The eligibility criteria and availability of services vary by program.
Siskiyou County is under the jurisdiction of the Shasta County Housing Authority which operates the Housing Choice Voucher Program available to eligible Siskiyou County residents. See their webpage for more information.
