Homelessness Response System
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) implements homeless services at the local level through Continuums of Care (CoC). A CoC is a consortium of individuals and organizations with the common purpose of planning a housing and services system for people who are experiencing homelessness.
In addition to managing HUD funding, CoCs are responsible for identifying system needs and taking steps to address them with the collaboration and partnership of community stakeholders. Siskiyou County is part of the NorCal CoC which contains seven counties in Northern California. Each member County operates a local Advisory Board.
The City of Redding acts as the Lead Agency of the NorCal CoC, providing administrative support for the functions of the NorCal CoC across the seven member counties (Shasta, Lassen, Plumas, Sierra, Siskiyou, Del Norte and Modoc). Please visit the NorCal CoC webpage for more information.
