Personal Cannabis Cultivation Commercial Cannabis Activities Prohibited
Starting Friday, September 3, 2021, Siskiyou County Planning Division will no longer accept new Use Permit applications for Short-Term Vacation Rentals on properties under 2.5-acres countywide.
Siskiyou County Planning is one of the three divisions within the County's Community Development Department. Planning Responsibilities:
- The land use information center for the County
- Functions as the professional staff to the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission.
- Disseminates information to the public regarding potential development areas for residential, commercial, industrial, and resource development and management.
- Is responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the County General Plan, the County's Zoning Ordinance, and implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
- Processes development applications and permit requests for land divisions, use permits, General Plan amendments, zone changes, and variances.
- Processes permits and enforces state requirements for the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA).
- Staff maintains and implements the County's street naming and addressing system and provides address related information for the County's Emergency 911 response program.
