Who We Are

The Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services is the primary disaster management agency for Siskiyou County. Led by the Director, our staff works to protect lives and property during times of natural or man-made disaster. We apply all phases of emergency management to our practice and utilize a whole community approach in support of achieving the national preparedness goal: “A secure and resilient nation with the capabilities required across the whole community to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk.”

Mission Statement

The Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is committed to the protection of lives, health, and property of Siskiyou County residents when disaster strikes. OES strives to accomplish this goal by maintaining a state of readiness utilizing the four phases of emergency management: Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation.

About OES

Disasters can strike at any time and any place. Through advanced planning, training, and exercises, it is the responsibility of Siskiyou County OES to ensure there is a coordinated response from all levels of government. OES manages several federal and state grants which help to support this mission. During large emergencies, OES is responsible for activating and managing the Siskiyou Operational Area Emergency Operations Center.

OES is committed to the goal of keeping Siskiyou County constantly prepared for a large disaster. Utilizing the four phases of Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery, OES strives to achieve this goal by working closely with many state, county, and local entities such as Personal Health Nursing, Environmental Health, Law Enforcement, Fire, and Public Works.
