CalWORKs
CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) is a time-limited Federal/State program which provides temporary cash aid and employment services to needy families with children. The CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work Program assists individuals with the transition from dependence to self-sufficiency. Siskiyou County is committed to this goal by providing intensive case management and fostering the recipient’s efforts to seek, secure and retain employment in order to reach future employment goals. The program offers supportive services, including child care, transportation and other services necessary for a successful transition from Welfare-to-Work. Services are provided to individuals who are determined to be “work ready” and are provided at no-cost to the individual.
