Other Guidance and Information
Load Separation
Separating the different materials is mandatory and is the responsibility of each customer. Save yourself the time and hassle of separating a mixed load by planning ahead.
Charging of Loads by Weight
The County reserves the right to weigh all waste and charge by the compacted per ton fee when the attendant estimates the density of waste is greater than 200 pounds per cubic yard.
Charging of Loads by Volume
Gate attendants will estimate the load and calculate the disposal fees. Attendants will measure load if requested.
The formula is: (length x height x width) feet divided by 27 = number of cubic yards
Senior Days
Each transfer station has a weekly Senior Day. On those days the $7.00 minimum fee is waived, but regular waste fees still apply. This benefit is provided for all residents age 55 and older.
- Black Butte and Oberlin Road Transfer Stations - Wednesdays
- Happy Camp and Tulelake Transfer Stations - Thursday
How Gate Fees are Set
Gate fees are set by the County of Siskiyou Board of Supervisors. The most recent ordinance is number 18-08.
