Biography:
Jess Harris, born and raised in Yreka, is a proud, lifelong resident of Siskiyou County. A 2004 graduate of Yreka High School, he was the youngest student ever admitted to the GATE Natural Resources class, showcasing his early passion for the outdoors. Jess is a lifelong hunter, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast with deep roots in the county’s natural offerings.
After high school, Jess worked a variety of jobs, including several years in the oilfields of Bakersfield and Southern California, before obtaining his Commercial Driver’s License in 2011. He returned to Siskiyou County in 2012 to work for the Public Works Road Department as a Road Maintenance Worker until 2016.
Since 2021, Jess has served as the Northern California Programs Representative for the California Rifle and Pistol Association. In addition, he is a licensed FFL dealer, certified firearm instructor, CCW instructor, Hunter Education instructor, and small business owner. Jess lives with his wife and four children on a small ranch, raising a variety of livestock.
As a faithful advocate for Siskiyou County, Jess is dedicated to preserving the area’s values, supporting its residents, and protecting its natural resources.
