Organic Producers

Siskiyou County Department of Agriculture is the local enforcement and compliance agency for the California Organic Program. We assist applicants with the registration process and conduct inspections.

Every person in the state of California engaged in the production or handling of raw agricultural products sold as organic, the retailers that are engaged in the production of products sold as organic, and retailers that are engaged in the processing, as defined by the National Organic Program, of products sold as organic, shall register with the State Organic Program. If the expected organic gross sales exceed $5,000. 

Certification is required.  Certification can now be completed online from the California Department of Agriculture, Farmers' Market page.
