Food
This program permits and conducts routine inspections on restaurants, markets, bars, bakeries, bed and breakfast establishments, mobile food units, temporary food facilities, and cottage food operations. Food facilities are permitted in accordance with the provisions of the California Retail Food Code. Plan reviews are performed prior to initiating any new construction or remodeling. In the case of food borne illness, epidemiological investigations and reports are completed to determine the cause.

The Consumer Protection unit of the Environmental Health Division oversees a number of programs, which are detailed on the Navigation to the left.. Applications, guidelines, and other information are located in the Resource Center at the bottom of the page.
